Nicole Stone

Nicole is who you’ll talk strategy with. She started Central Lakes Digital in 2017, leads the design work, and makes sure you feel like part of the team from the first call.

She grew up on a small family farm, has fished since she was about six, and studied atmospheric science before coming back to the outdoors. She also creates fishing content as Nicole Stone Outdoors, so she knows the outdoor industry from the inside. She lives in northern Minnesota with her family.

Megan Dornbusch

Megan keeps your site running and your words sounding like you. She builds and looks after the websites and writes much of the copy, so a change you ask for is usually in her hands.

She grew up in central Minnesota and earned a master’s in range science from North Dakota State University in 2018, then brought her love of learning to web design and writing. Offline, she’s outside with her husband and son: fishing, hunting, or hiking.

Where We Came From

Two scientists, as it happens.

Neither of us set out to run a web agency. Nicole studied atmospheric science and spent a few years working in the field. Megan earned a master’s in range science from North Dakota State University and trained as a conservation researcher.

It’s why we ask so many questions before we build, why we check the numbers, and why we’d rather say “we don’t know yet” than guess. You get the benefit without having to think about any of it.
